Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken chopped or shredded
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 rib celery finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill or ¼ teaspoon dried dill (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken, mayonnaise, diced celery, green onion, Dijon mustard, seasoned salt, black pepper, and dill if using. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well mixed.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve the chicken salad as a sandwich filling, on a bed of lettuce, or wrapped in a tortilla.

Notes

Substitute green onion with chives or finely diced red onion, if preferred.
 
Optional add-ins for extra flavor and texture include:
1 cup chopped red grapes or peeled apple
2 tablespoons chopped nuts, such as pecans or almonds
